2010 Hamilton County dog licenses on sale during Pet ID Day
Get your 2010 Hamilton County license before the price of a license doubles in February! A dog license, worn on a dog’s collar could be your beloved pet’s ticket home if they get lost or loose. Lost dogs wearing a valid Hamilton County tag can be easily traced to the owner when the finder calls (513) 946-DOGS, the 24-hour hotline for returning lost dogs. Each dog license has a unique number and if a deputy warden or other person finds a lost dog with a license, a simple phone call or search online will provide the dog owner’s name, address and telephone number.
Hamilton County Licenses are $19.75 each. A great opportunity to get a dog license, as well as other services for your pet, will take place on Sunday, January 31, 2010. spca cincinnati (at our Sharonville Humane Center location ONLY) will be offering a free rabies shot for your dog with a purchase of a dog license. We will also be offering discounted microchip implantations. This is a one-day only special.
Pet ID Day
Noon to 4 p.m.
Sunday, January 31, 2010
SPCA Cincinnati Sharonville
11900 Conrey Rd.
Cincinnati, OH 45249
Microchipping and registration for one cat or dog is $15, a savings of over $60.
Rabies shots are also free for cats, but spca cincinnati is asking for a small donation of your choice (since cats do not require a license).
Every dog over the age of three months must have a license by January 31 of every year according to Ohio law. Dog owners who fail to purchase a license for their dog by January 31, 2010 are subject to a fine.

TIP: HAVE YOUR PET IN A SUITABLE CARRIER OR SECURE ON A LEASH SO THEY DON'T GET LOOSE - AND LOST - IN THE PROCESS!!!
LICENSES ARE REQUIRED(DOGS), RABIES SHOTS ARE VITAL, MICROCHIPS ESSENTIAL!
Only ~ 5 - 7 % of lost pets WITHOUT microchips ever make it home but ~ 85%+ of lost pets WITH microchips are returned to their owners. Don't let your pet be one of the nearly 15,000 pets that are EUTHANIZED of the nearly 20,000 pets that are found and taken to the Northside Shelter EVERY YEAR !

Shelter dogs say thank you!
Best Friends Petcare's angel tree this year had 2 rescues on it HARLEQUIN HAVEN and WARREN COUNTY HUMANE.
Some of our clients from Best Friends Petcare donated some blankets and toys that they had made for these animals. Each rescue would like to say thank you to everyone that donated to them especially a group of little girls who out of their heart made the toys and blankets.

Hello my name is Dennis. I am the caretaker of Best Friends Petcare here in Cincinnati,OH. My humans think all I do is lay around and sleep all day but in reality they don't see what I get into.....Playing with all the cat toys in retail, stalking the frog in the lobby aquarium, rearranging the cat retail, copying myself on the copier where it is warm!
